A lot of people thought 13 was too young for dying hair. They said it was possible for Halloween but kids this age should be using wash-out hairspray and wigs. On the other hand, there are those who said that because it was temporary, it should not be a problem. However, concerns were generally raised by the chopped hair. It made people feel unsettled.

It was nice to see that these internet people understood how the young girl could have felt. Christin was getting comments which said bad things about Schaffen, but some of the strangers began addressing Kelsey due to the sympathy they felt for her. Some paid her compliments, while others shared heartwarming sentiments and suggestions on how to deal with her hair. Kelsey felt comforted by their kindness, but she could not understand how strangers could understood her in a way that her own father could not.
