A Challenge In The Relationship
Unlike many young, college-aged couples, Jeremy had a newborn baby to take care of. By the time he met Katie, he was no longer in a relationship with Casey, the mother of his child, so it wasn’t like he was cheating on her. Still, it was uncomfortable sometimes for Katie. Of course, Casey had to be in Jeremy’s life because of their son.

What made things even more complicated for Jeremy was that Casey felt heartbroken by the fact that her child’s father did not want to be romantically involved with her anymore. She actually felt a bit of hatred toward Jeremy for the fact that he was able to move on from her so easily. Understandably, Casey did not feel so comfortable with a woman who she did not know coming into her son’s life and helping to raise him. Katie had some big shoes to fill as the “stepmom.”
