American Apparel
Dov Charney launched American Apparel in Los Angeles during the late ‘80s. The headquarters of the company is still there to this day! The clothing retailer rakes in a revenue of more than $600 million per year. You can find its stores just about anywhere in the United States. It is interesting to hear that Charney had the opportunity to launch it after a bankruptcy sale. When Los Angeles Apparel went out of business, it sold the equipment for very cheap. After that, he bought sewing machines, fabric, and computers and used it to start his very own company. These days, American Apparel has over 8,000 employees working for it.
