The 1990s was quite a rollercoaster for Celine. The star managed to release 13 studio albums and her husband was diagnosed with cancer. After learning of the diagnosis, she took a break, but while she was on that break, the tabloid National Enquirer released some false story about Celine being pregnant with twins. She sued the magazine for 20 million dollars. The magazine apologized and made a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society.

Celine became the recipient of The National Order of Quebec, the highest honor that Quebec can give. She has stars on both the Canadian and Hollywood Walks of Fame, and Laval University even gave her an honorary doctorate! She said it was, “a very great honor for a little girl from Charlemagne.” Celine dedicated the award to her husband, Rene.
