In spite of Celine’s initial apprehension about the song “My Heart Will Go On,” her husband, Rene, was able to persuade the star to record the single and release it. In an interview with Jonathan Ross, Celine explained, “[Angélil] said, ‘Let’s just do a demo. Let’s give it a try and we’ll see after.’ The demo is actually the real recording. I never sang the song again.” It’s definitely a good decision to have recorded the demo! After its release in 1997, the song became a huge hit, earned Celine several awards, and went on to become her most popular song to date.
