The number of pagodas has also reduced to half, making locals even more dissatisfied. Locals even claim that visitors climbing to the top are contributing to the fall of pagodas.

The increase in visitors has meant an increased need for tour guides and boat workers who run the boats sailing the bay. However, many of these guides and workers are inexperienced and focus more on making money rather than giving tourists a great experience.
