Some celebrities decide to go with the designer’s original look, but there are others who modify the outfit to make it that much more special. All the same, we can’t help but take a look at some iconic runway looks worn by celebrities on the red carpet.
Valentino – Julianne Moore
Julianne Moore has developed quite the style reputation over the years. She’s become known for rocking some of the boldest outfits from all kinds of fashion shows. This sparkling green gown is no exception. The tiered dress was made by Valentino and showcased on the runway on the model with exaggerated lashes and smokey eyes. Julianne, however, decided to pair the dress with sky-blue earrings and a delicate makeup look.
Dior – Charlize Theron
This golden fringe Dior dress was worn by none other than the movie star, Charlize Theron, to the Vanity Fair Oscar party. The one-shoulder dress was originally paired with flat sandals and a braided hairdo on the runway. However, Charlize went in a different direction and had her hair pulled back into a sleek style. To top it off, she paired the dress with a matching golden clutch and high-heeled stiletto sandals.
Valentino – Meryl Streep
Meryl Streep wore a gorgeous Valentino gown that was straight off the runway. Styling it a little differently, the actress chose a white clutch to match the dress instead of the black one shown on the model. She also wore her hair down in a straight and sleek look. To finish off the entire look, Meryl wore a pair of dark glasses that perfectly matched the shade of lipstick she wore. Honestly, we adore it!
Chanel – Blake Lively
Chanel’s houndstooth clothing has become the designer’s signature throughout the years. Here we can see Blake Lively wearing a jumpsuit made by the designer to an event. She styled it differently by adding a chain belt around her waist and wearing the collar open. Instead of the over-the-top hairdo that the model wore on the runway, Blake went with a chic twisted half-up hairdo that we can’t get enough of!
Gucci – Rihanna
We have to admit that this is an outfit that looks quite unusual on everyone. All the same, Rihanna decided to take the Gucci ensemble and make it her own with a matching pair of sunglasses and platform sneakers. We’re just glad that she skipped the peculiar headdress that the designer paired it with on the runway. Whatever you think about this outfit, you can’t deny that it really is a show-stealer!
Ulyana Sergeenko – Zoe Saldana
Russian fashion designer Ulyana Sergeenko really did a fantastic job with this black ruffled dress. Even without any accessories, it looks incredible. That’s truly impressive. Zoe Saldana clearly understood that, so when she wore the dress to a movie premiere, all she paired it with was a pair of black strappy heels and a dark lip. It’s always a good idea to keep things simple when the centerpiece stands out.
Valentino – Kristen Wiig
While many stylists said Kristen Wiig’s 2020 Oscars look wasn’t great, we can’t help but love it. Valentino is not a designer to make anything boring, and this is proof. While the vibrant red gown was paired with over-the-top earrings on the runway, Kristen decided to keep it simple. However, she did make sure to wear the black gloves that the model wore as well. Aside from that, she kept her makeup rather natural-looking and wore a pair of delicate earrings to style the look. The gorgeous actress completed the look with flowing straight locks.
Chanel – Margot Robbie
Who doesn’t love a vintage moment? Margot Robbie decided to wear a magnificent vintage Chanel dress to the 2020 Oscars. In fact, this dress was from the 1994 collection. While it might not be exactly the same dress, it does look like the one Claudia Schiffer wore on the runway all those years ago. It turns out that this dress was specially made for Margot. Still, the look was flawless with the detached sleeves and the blue brooch.
Versace – Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
The classic Versace neckline can be recognized almost anywhere. Here we see the British model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wearing this Versace jacket-dress with a pair of pants in the same color. The result is a beautiful suit that is perfectly fitted to the model’s frame. To finish off the look, Rosie paired a matching velvet clutch with the outfit and went with a bold, red lip. Her sleek hair is the cherry on top if you ask us!
