In 1973, the “Battle of the Sexes” happened between tennis icons Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King. The latter ended up victorious, which then shot her into both fame and fortune. She also became the first gay female athlete to ever come out in public in 1981. She got a divorce from Larry King in 1987. As a testament to how iconic she is, she got inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. They are also making a movie of the legendary tennis game with Emma Stone portraying her.
