The firemen worked together to raise the storm grate so that they could get to the bottom. They clearly heard the cries of the poor animals. They realized that they were dealing with babies here! The team was left wondering what they were doing in that place. How on earth did they even get there?

There was no reason for these small animals to be in a storm grate. It would have made more sense if they were in the wild. The animals were far from any sort of wild habitat. The firefighters could not help but wonder why the mother was not down there with them.
