The Cast Of Married…With Children: Their Life After The Show

Published on 10/28/2020
Three decades have passed since we bid farewell to the Bundys, the dysfunctional family at the center of Married … with Children. For 11 seasons and over 250 episodes, the Fox sitcom managed to run, airing its finale on June 9, 1997. We can see below what Al, Peggy, Kelly, Bud, and the rest of the cast are up to now.

Katey Sagal | Then

Katey Sagal took on the role of matriarch of the Bundy family, who did not really like doing her household chores. Since she never cooked or cleaned and often treated her husband poorly, Peggy was certainly not a ‘typical housewife.’

Katey Sagal | Then

Katey Sagal | Then

Due largely to her sassy attitude and hysteric antics, Peggy was still the favorite of many show fans. You could always find Peggy sitting on the couch watching her favorite talk show with a box of chocolates.

Katey Sagal | Now

In the world of television, Katey Sagal has had a lot of success since her time at MWC. In the show 8 Simple Rules, she played the Hennessy family’s mother and lent her recognizable voice to Futurama, where she played Turanga Leela.

Katey Sagal | Now

Katey Sagal | Now

She made some guest appearances on shows like Lost, Glee, and The Big Bang Theory. Sagal has had many failed marriages in her life but has been married since 2004 to Kurt Sutter, who created the show Sons of Anarchy.

Denise Richards | Then

On Married…With Children, Denise Richards had a small role, so small that no name was given to her character. In the episode titled” Kelly Does Hollywood: Part 2,” Richards took on the role of girl# 2. It’s unfortunate, but people still knew her for her pretty face.

Denise Richards | Then

Denise Richards | Then

The Bundy family heads down to California in this episode so Kelly can get a chance to pursue an entertainment career. When she appeared in the episode, Richards was only 20 years old and, although she was only featured briefly, she went on to have a successful career.

Denise Richards | Now

In the 1999 film, The World is Not Enough, Denise Richards is both an actress and a model and is best known for her Bond girl role. Richards has appeared in many films, including Valentine and Love Actually.

Denise Richards | Now

Denise Richards | Now

She also made an appearance with the sitcom Friends as Monica and Ross’ cousin. Richards was famously married to the troubled actor Charlie Sheen, and before Richards adopted a third child on her own, the couple had two children together.

David Garrison | Then

Marcy was the next-door neighbor of the Bundy family, and her first husband, Steve, was played by David Garrison. Steve was a banker and a little bit nerdy. He was often roped into Al’s schemes, such as running after women and going to clubs that adult men sometimes frequent.

David Garrison | Then

David Garrison | Then

Steve was known to have taken swift justice on the high school bullies who came to his bank to ask for loans. Seeing as Garrison had decided to terminate his contract with the show, Steve and Mary had legally separated.

David Garrison | Now

To return to his first love, the theater, Garrison, chose to leave MWC. Garrison has had a very successful stage acting career and has appeared in musicals such as Guys and Dolls, and in the original production of Wicked, he played the wizard.

David Garrison | Now

David Garrison | Now

He has appeared in several Broadway shows, including Titanic, The Pirates of Penzance, and Torch Song Trilogy. Seeing that he’s had many successful shows now, it looks like Garrison has made the right decision to leave the show, Married…With Children.

Matt LeBlanc | Then

As one of Kelly’s boyfriends, Matt Leblanc was a recurring character named Vinnie Verducci on MWC. As Vinnie was very good looking and did not have too much going on in his brain, the two were perfect for each other.

Matt LeBlanc | Then

Matt LeBlanc | Then

The show’s success was so great that LeBlanc starred in two spin-offs that the creators tried to make, but both were ultimately canceled. However, as his biggest role was right around the corner, LeBlanc shouldn’t be too disappointed.

Matt LeBlanc | Now

In 1991, LeBlanc started appearing on MWC, but when he was cast as Joey on Friends in 1994, he had a big break. For ten years, LeBlanc played a famous role, and after that, he was given his own spin-off show, Joey.

Matt LeBlanc | Now

Matt LeBlanc | Now

However, history is bound to repeat itself, and after a short two seasons, Joey was canceled. After that, LeBlanc took a bit of a break from acting but made a return to Episodes in 2011. His role led him to receive four Emmy nominations and to win a Golden Globe Award.

E.E. Bell | Then

On MWC, Bell played the character of Bob Rooney. Bob was a high school friend of Al’s, and the two were former football teammates. Bob was a butcher, and he was married to Peggy’s friend, who is Louise.

E.E. Bell | Then

E.E. Bell | Then

One of the funniest things about this character is that he was never called just Bob since everyone called him by his full name. Bob Rooney had also been known for being a good handyman and owning home repair manuals.

E.E. Bell | Now

E.E. Bell has had many small roles in television shows since his time at MWC, but he never found success in Hollywood. But you might recognize him as he appeared in shows such as How I Met Your Mother and Drake & Josh.

Debbe Dunning | Now

Debbe Dunning | Now

She went on to appear in projects like The Jamie Foxx Show and Wicked Wicked Games. Since 2006, Dunning has not appeared much, but that could be because she takes care of the three children she has with Steve Timmons, a volleyball player.

Dan Tullis Jr. | Then

Dan Tullis Jr. was another friend of Al’s and is known to be a corrupt police officer in the neighborhood. Officer Dan is a friend of Al’s who is also a member of NO MA’AM, even though he often arrests them for their illegal shenanigans.

Ever since his role on MWC, Dan has not performed much, but he has made a few minor television appearances. Tullis Jr. acted in Home Improvement, The Drew Carey Show, and The District. At the beginning of every ad, Tullis identifies himself by name to avoid confusion with Dennis Haysbert.

Sylvester had his last known acting appearance in 2015 but may have chosen to retire at 68. In fact, the actor was the first African-American student to receive an athletic scholarship from Tulane University. Way to go, Sylvester!

Ed O’Neill | Then

Ed O’Neill played the reclusive patriarch of the Bundy family on MWC. Bundy was sort of a doofus and not a good father or husband, unlike other television fathers of the past who were responsible and level-headed. Despite his surly demeanor, he clearly still cares for his family.

Juliet Tablak | Now

Perhaps Juliet’s character vanished from the show because she had other dreams and ambitions. Even though Tablak made a couple more television appearances in The Larry Sanders Show and Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue throughout the 1990s, she has not acted since 2000.
