College Coming Up
They might have been separated before, but going to college would be really different from the separation that they had endured in the past. Obviously, Matt and Laura wanted to stay together. However, they were attending different colleges in different states, so they would need to make a pretty difficult decision. “Right after we graduated from high school, we were pretty hesitant,” Laura said to People. “We were like, ‘Do we stay together? Do we try to make it work?’”

Long Distance
They both did not want to rob each other of a unique college experience. Laura was going to Northern Arizona University while Matt was heading to Chicago in order to attend Columbia University. They were going to be 1,600 miles apart. However, they were both determined to make their long distance relationship work.
