The woodcutters were all aware of one thing. This was one tree that they would not be able to use, so it was going to count as a loss for the job. Even if this was true, they knew that they had just stumbled into something both significant and valuable. They decided to just take the most logical step: call their manager. Sadly, the only thing their superior had to say was to keep their mind on finishing their job.
