A Stressful Situation
The rescue team at In-Sync had previously worked with animals in distress but had never encountered such a tense situation. They were unable to assist Sheila in her recovery. They also thought she was giving up altogether. After days of exhaustion and a lack of energy, Sheila came to a halt. Her condition appeared to be deteriorating; she was throwing up everything she had eaten. This made it extremely difficult for the rescuers.

The In-Sync team had a difficult time. They tried everything they could to assist Sheila, but nothing seemed to work. After a couple of weeks of hard work, they decided to follow the USDA’s advice and euthanize this large cat. Sheila’s life has become difficult and painful for her. The team had to deal with the fact that killing Sheila would be the most compassionate thing to do.
