The doctors were able to give him a diagnosis when he was five years old. He has a very rare condition that has the ratio of one in every 15,000 people. That condition is so-called Sotos Syndrome which is also known as “cerebral gigantism.” After Broc’s mother received the diagnosis, she said, “I don’t have any idea if he will ever stop from growing, but I think there’s nothing that can stop him from growing”. This made his mother Darci worry about her son’s future.

The family didn’t know much about the diagnosis, which is Sotos Syndrome when they first found about it. At first, Darci was just thinking that her son was just growing fast compared to other children in their class. The Doctors explained to the family that Broc would not likely live past his teenage years. And unfortunately, there are some other, direr effects of Sotos Syndrome. Doctors also told them that currently, there are no other treatment options for Sotos Syndrome.
