Talley required a creative workstation in his house as a designer. He wanted to ensure he had a good home office now that the bus transition was going well. Talley wanted to start again, and he needed a place that would excite him and keep his creative juices going.

Most of the compact dwellings he investigated had a little desk that swings out from the wall, which Talley did not want. He created the largest desk Talley had ever owned, measuring five feet broad and two feet deep.

While Talley began planning his interior improvements, he wanted to be efficient with space while also using ecologically and financially beneficial products. Talley said he got lucky with the wood he chose for the inside flooring and furnishings.

“I lucked lucky with this wood. It’s salvaged floorboards from a house here in Hyde Park in Austin, circa 1941, and I just flipped it upside down and utilized the unfinished sides for all my accent walls/couch,” Talley said.
