Busboys and Poets was a restaurant at Washington DC and called themselves a “community where racial and cultural connections are consciously uplifted … a space for art, culture, and politics to intentionally collide.” It was why the clique of Texan men wearing red hats appeared to be out of place in the establishment. And more so at that particular time and place.
