The Pope Loved Her
In 1984, Quebec was visited by Pope John Paul II. Celine performed “Une Colombe,” the French anthem, for him in front of a massive audience in Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. It was reported that the Pope loved the performance and that Celine very much enjoyed performing for him.
