We think that it is awesome that Charlize Theron grew up on a farm in South Africa. She had a tragic childhood, with her mother killing her alcoholic dad in self-defense after he threatened to kill her and their child. She used to train to become a professional ballet dancer, although she had to quit after she sustained an injury from training. Thanks to her natural beauty, modeling scouts came after her. However, her big break came when she began to go into acting. Mind you, there is more to her than just being a pretty face. Among other things, she won an Academy Award for Best Actress with her portrayal of Aileen Wuornos!

Although Raquel Welch did not become famous in her debut role, she rose to fame when she appeared in the 1966 movie called One Million Years B.C. Perhaps you are already familiar with her epic fur bikini, which is the stuff of legends. She also worked on Bedazzled, 100 Rifles, and Bandolero!. Did you know that she was in Legally Blonde as well? Thanks to her work on promoting her Latin heritage, the actress was given the “Imagen Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2001.
